Ms. Jianping Lu is a nationally first-ranked dancer from China. She graduated from Shanghai Opera Theater in 1978, specializing in Chinese ethnic dance, and was the principal dancer of the Shanghai Opera Theater Dance Troupe. She currently serves as the artistic director of Lujianping Dance & Arts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Lu has received many competition awards and much acclaim from Chinese dance experts and professionals for her numerous performances in many dance dramas, including the most famous eight dance dramas in China and received the highest awards from the Chinese government for her accomplishments in the arts. Her tours of various countries in Europe and Asia were also applauded.
In addition to performing, Ms. Lu has choreographed large-scale dance performance for major events, including the opening ceremonies of the Chinese National Athletic Competition and the Shanghai International Music Festival. She also directed the Shanghai International Arts Festival and the Shanghai International Fashion Festival.
Since Ms. Lu moved to California in 1999, she has been deeply involved in choreographing, teaching, and directing various dance showcases and performances. In 2002, Ms. Lu received praise for her performance as principal dancer in Cirrus Dance & Arts’ production of the epic Silk Road, Flower Rains.
Ms. Lu is not only an outstanding dancer and choreographer, but an excellent teacher as well. Her dancing instruction is popular among students and widely respected by parents across the Bay Area.
